With Heavy Heart

The last 2 months have been very challenging. After 6 weeks of absolute misery, I convinced my doctor to remove my kidney stone. Over Labor Day weekend, I underwent a ureterolithotomy and stent placement. What a surprise, there were 2 stones!

The procedure and hospital experience were uneventful. However, living a week with a stent was pure torture. I spent one week in bed with unrelenting left flank pain and spasms.

Don was laid off in August and has been unsuccessful finding a job. It does not look promising. The housing market and the economy are impacting his job search. He is exploring setting up his own consulting business which is probably the right thing to do. However, it does take time and money.

With heavy heart, we have decided to stop the adoption process right now. We do not want to close the door on adoption but we are not sure what God's plan is for us at this time. During my kidney stone caper, a CAT scan revealed another medical problem and I am scheduled for surgery in December. It seems overwhelming right now with health issues, financial challenges as well as other issues.

We are praying for wisdom at this time and to know God's will for us regarding the adoption. I will be taking a break from this journal also.

Be still, and know that I am God.... Psalms 46:10

On my knees,
